The Grad Photography Experience
STEP 1: CONSULTATION
Before we book you in for a grad shoot, the first step is a phone consultation with Leah. We require both the grad and one parent to be on the call. Leah will take you through all the details of the shoot such as our posing system, how to prep for the shoot, photo pricing, etc. We'll find a date for your session on the call if you . If you decide not to schedule a session, no worries at all - you will not be wasting our time!
STEP 2: TRANSFORMATION
When you arrive for your Grad Photoshoot, Leah will do your hair and makeup. We are going for a dramatic makeup style that will make you feel and look glamorous - but not overdone! We like to keep hair simple, so we don't do an up-do. A loose curl works beautifully in long hair. If your hair is short, we'll work with your style to help you look and feel beautiful for your photos. Makeup and hair can be personalized, however, and we are eager to work with you to make you look your best.
STEP 3: THE SHOOT
The photoshoot portion of your session is the most fun! Though you may be nervous for the first few minutes, you will be feeling comfortable and confident before too long. Kevan's posing process is indestructible - it works for EVERYONE. Also, Leah is always there to lend a hand for outfit and hair adjustments. So, all you have to do is put on your grad dress (Leah is there to help!) and we will guide you through every single detail of the posing - right down to how you lay your hands and how you point your toes! We always do some photos in the studio and some outside.
STEP 4: THE REVEAL
About 1-2 weeks after your session, we will reveal our favourite photos in an Ordering Appointment. Expect to love WAY MORE photos than you expect! Our clients are blown away every single time by their amazing images - and you will be too! Our albums, photo boxes, canvases, metal prints and folio boxes and more are keepsakes that you will treasure for the rest of your life!
Kevan Wilkie Photography - A Branch of Decoro Portraits
We are a husband and wife team from Fernie, BC. Kevan is the photographer and has been shooting weddings since 2007 and portraits since 2012. We began Decoro Portraits in 2013, which is dedicated to our boudoir work, and launched Kevan Wilkie Photography last year, which focuses on weddings, grad and family portraits. Leah does hair and makeup, assists in the studio, is in charge of client services and sales, and creates much of our marketing. We have been married 21 years, and have three children aged 15, 13 and 10.
Terms and Conditions
We have limited grad spaces available, and the best time to schedule is between April 15th and May 15th. We can work around school schedules for the most part, but more lead-time will help you get the appointment time that works best for you. Our special offer for 2026 Grads is a Complimentary Session AND a 5-Image App with the purchase of a collection. We do require a refundable $100 deposit upon booking to prevent cancellations. We don't pre-sell photos - you only buy what you love.
We will show you the photos from your photoshoot at an Ordering Appointment 1-2 weeks after your session. We require both the grad and a parent to attend the Ordering Appointment. Our photography products start at $700, which is for one small hand-crafted Italian-made wall art piece called an "Amalfi Panel"; however, we have created some Grad-specific collections that will allow you to share your grad photos with family, both physically and digitally. Grad collections start at $1095. No-interest payment plans are available so that you can splurge on all your favourite photos with no regret.
